Privacy policy

The short version: we don’t have accounts, we don’t store your maps, and we don’t follow you around the internet.

What we collect

Maplet has no user accounts and no databases of generated maps. Everything you type into the generator — locations, routes, settings — lives in your browser tab and is discarded when you close it. We keep standard, anonymised server logs (request path, status, coarse user agent) for reliability monitoring, retained for 30 days.

Third-party services the tool talks to

• OpenStreetMap Nominatim — receives the text you type in search boxes to return location suggestions, under the OSMF privacy policy.
• Google Maps — the live preview and your final embed load directly from Google, which applies its own privacy policy to map interactions, both here and on your website.
• Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used by this site.

We add no analytics scripts, advertising pixels or fingerprinting of any kind.

Cookies

Maplet sets no cookies. Embedded Google Maps may set their own cookies when a visitor interacts with a map — mention this in your own site’s privacy notice if you embed maps.

Your embeds, your visitors

When you paste a Maplet snippet into your website, the iframe is served by Google to your visitors directly — Maplet is not in that path and never sees your traffic.
